Sholazar Basin

So I finally got around to doing Sholazar Basin over the weekend because I was helping my boyfriend level his herbing alt, who was level 78 and now 79! It is a very fun place to do quests. I felt like a tourist as I kept taking screenshots. I got a big kick out of some quests as you can see =)

As you do quests you open up 2 factions: the Frenzyheart Tribe and the Oracles. The poor, cute friendly Oracles have always dwelled in Sholazar Basin and the recent encroachment of the hostile, rude Frenzyheart Tribe has caused conflict between the 2 sides. The Frenzyheart Tribe actually look cute and cuddley as they are "puppy men" while the Oracles are reptilian with huge mouths filled with sharp teeth so appearances are deceiving in this case. The Frenzyheart Tribe treat you as a slave and "chain" you while you do quests for them while the Oracles tend to be more idyllic and say cutesy things. Therefore when you complete the quest chain letting you see the 2 sides and how they operate, it was not hard at all to choose the Oracles. Plus, you get to buy an egg to hatch every week once you hit revered, which can get you some pets and a mount!!

Oracles
Some highlights from that day of doing Sholazar:
Crocodile surfing!!

Croc Surfing (3)
My boyfriend: "It's a damn forest, why aren't there any herbs?"
Me: "I don't know."
An hour later.
My boyfriend: "Oh, I didn't have finding herbs on."
Me: "LOL!!"
Hahaha, my boyfriend is so silly.

Avatar of Freya (2)
I was also excited to do a quest line that alluded to Freya, a boss in the upcoming Ulduar. Big ass lady shooting green beams from her body? Come on! Picture!
Un'Goro Portal (1)
The quest line also took us to Un'Goro oddly enough, that led to us piloting that big stone dude I posted before.
Rainbow Waterfalls (1)
There were also some pretty sights to see.

Monte Muzzleshot (1)
This NPC actually opens up Sholazar Basin, pretty hilarious that this NPC is stuck there and just yells at you to go to Nesingwary camp where you get to see your old friend, Hemet Nesingwary, who moved here from Nagrand once WotLK came out.

Pillar (2)
Another cool sight that we found while questing in Sholazar.

Anyway, if you haven't done Sholazar Basin, I highly recommend doing it as you get gold from doing the quests and a whole lot of fun. Also, definitely do the quest line so you can start getting reputation with one of the 2 factions. The only thing is that if you like to gather in Sholazar, items in the vicinity of the faction hostile to you will be a hassle to get but it is still worth it for a proto drake mount! =)

Till next time!

  1. The crocodile-quest is soooo awesome, it's one of my favorite northend quests! :-)

I like Sholazar the most. Everytime i need Herbs and Soulshards i go there just because it's .. kind of relaxing, like holidays. Too much snow elsewhere, haha.

  3. Best place for mining. I made 2500gold this weekend on Saronite Ore and Eternals.

I have all the pets and even a few sent to my alts, but the mount still eludes me...

  6. Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave
it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.

She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic
but I had to tell someone!
