Commenting Courtesy
Hi all!
Though I am a very inconsistent blogger, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my 5 man healing post was very well received and linked on WoW Insider to boot!
I figured it out when I came on my website one day to see 10 new comments on the post when I'm lucky to get 1 or 2 on a post. One of these comments came from an infamous blogger.
Said blogger's comment consisted of only an url linking to their version of a 5 man healing guide. I can appreciate people having their own guides but why can't it come with a little comment such as "oh, I covered this and that in my guide that you didn't, here is the link" rather than just posting the link.
I found this comment somewhat rude but I thought it would be ruder to just delete the comment without explaining the reason even though I have had my disclaimer on commenting on this site for quite a while now.
As a fairly inconsistent blogger, my blog is fairly susceptible to random comments by bots or random people trying to drive traffic to their site. Even though said blogger might not have been trying to drive the huge spike of WoW Insider readers to their blog, it really was just intolerable to me that they posted only a link of their post without even bothering to state their intentions behind it.

Ferraro Revealed!
Many of you probably know of Ferraro, author of blog Paladin Schmaladin. There was a lot of drama surrounding that site as it became known that Ferraro had been posting pics of another person without permission and passing it off as themselves. Then when confronted about it, Ferraro admitted to the farce and then further revealed that she/he was the 7th in a long line of Ferraro's ala the Dread Pirate Roberts in the Princess Bride (book/movie), which is also debated if that is true. This is a rough summary and I'm sure I missed many details of the whole debacle.
So basically, all this drama caused so much controversy but Ferraro continues to blog (after coming back from quitting blogging when the drama broke out) as well as adding more bloggers on board his/her site. I'm sure many paladins have been helped out by his/her website, much as I have been too. Ferraro is a prolific blogger and is intensely interested in the paladin class as proven by the many varied posts on the blog.
As an anonymous blogger myself, I wouldn't want to out any one that chooses to blog anonymously. However, Ferraro has chosen to out him/her self.
I have no clue how long this has been up but I guess since WoW Armory was revamped as there is now an armory link for a holy paladin on the side, which I assume is Ferraro #7 =P
I am not sure why Ferraro has decided to do this now and apparently, without much fanfare or comment from his/her readers. It just makes me curious.

Anatomy of WoW Raiding
So yes, I have been away for a while but I've just been raiding and percolating ideas. On the drama front, my guild has been relatively quiet, something I definitely appreciate! However, that makes for less writing material. As for general holy paladin discussion, I'm not completely confident but I have some ideas forming.
Anyway, this is just a post to share this wonderful pic that made me LOL IRL from cracked.com
Enjoy!
Till next time!

Update: Hiatus Lifting Soon
Sorry for the lack of posts recently, my dear readers =)
I've recently left my 25 man raiding guild to form a 10 man raiding guild. I've always found 10 man raids more fun, more intimate than 25 man raids. My old guild did some things I disagreed with and an incident happened that was the breaking point, basically.
I was a part of a group of raiders that were mostly core raiders and our exodus from the guild basically forced their break up. We were definitely painted as the villains but honestly, if people are unhappy raiding, why should anyone stay?
Anyway, some real posts incoming!

Anonymity as a WoW Blogger
Everyone seems to be blogging about a certain scandal about a certain paladin blogger. I'll give you a hint - it's not me. I'm going to assume everyone knows what I am talking about as it is the talk of the WoW blogosphere right now. I am not going to pass judgment or talk about the scandal.
Instead, I want to talk about how I present myself on the internet.
As all of my precious readers know, I am basically anonymous on this blog. I really don't think I've slipped up much or dropped many hints at all as to the name of my WoW character, server or guild. I really really strive to be anonymous. This is in direct opposition to all other WoW blogs I have encountered so far.
Why is it important that WoW bloggers identify themselves and present themselves honestly? Is there a stigma to being anonymous?
I find there to be much more benefit being an anonymous blogger compared to being out there in the open. Though there are drawbacks to both methods of course.

I. Advantages of Anonymous Blogging
- No trolls can find you on your server
- You can speak honestly without retribution from people that may follow you on your server and know exactly who or what you are speaking about, thus avoiding e-drama
- Your real life information will be harder to discover unless you, yourself, volunteer said information
- You will not be subject to "lol @ your arena" or "lol @ your gear" comments people tend to get when they post on their mains in the WoW forums
- Anonymous or not, there will be trolls or disrespectful fools
- People may think you are talking out your ass - "post on your main" syndrome
- You have to be careful and censor yourself or you might drop too many clues
- You can't tell your friends about your blog unless you really trust them

Site Changes & WoW Update
Hey guys!
So I'm sure some of you have noticed some of the tweaks I have done to my site such as adding the row of links below my header along with adding feedburner! I finally figured out how to add it and I just redirected my feed though the true implications of that I do not know yet. Yay, I have 40 subscribers! Welcome! Sorry that the first post you guys see after subscribing via feedburner is this drivel =X
I've noticed recently that everyone and their mothers seem to be posting strategy guides to downing bosses in Ulduar so though helpful, I doubt I will post my own. It would take way too much work anyway. I might come up with one when I have a more comprehensive view on Ulduar in general but right now I am still tentatively figuring out my optimal healing style for Ulduar.

Blog award!

Oh Em Gee! I got my very first ever blog award by WoW Fail Blog! And the reason is
"This award is bestowed upon a fellow blogger whose blog content or design is, in the giver’s opinion, brilliant."*Blush* Well, now that I am done tooting my own horn, the truth of the matter is that this is a make-pretend award =X

Post soon!
Sorry! I haven't done much in terms of WoW. My guild hasn't progressed to 25 OS 3d and I haven't gotten that many new achievements recently. So hence, the lack of posting. Well, I'm coming up with one but it will take a little bit of work.
Anyway, I hope that you guys that stop by regularly try and say hi sometimes! =)

Till next time!

Musings
To tell the truth, I've actually been feeling a little sad.
I used to be part of a very tight knit group of WoW friends but for whatever reasons, we are dwindling.
Thinking back on it though, people come and go in WoW just like in real life. Just because we play WoW not knowing how the other person looks like or what their real names are doesn't mean that the relationships we form with each other are not important.
As WoW players, we experience a sort of strange paradox. It is just a game and yet it is also not just a game.
We have to know how to have fun in WoW and not take it too seriously but at the same time, we can't take it completely easy and think that it doesn't matter what we do or say in the game because it is just a game.
So where are the boundaries? When are we too serious and when are we too carefree?

Pen Name
So yesterday we managed to get the 25 man OS 2 drake up achievement. I was pretty unhappy about my performance in yesterday's raid because my frame rate kept dipping unpredictably to less than 10 fps -.-

Well, I know I haven't introduced myself fully yet. I do play on a real live server in WoW, not a private server but I do not wish to divulge my character's name or server.
Why you ask? I suppose because I've always been a private person when it comes to my identity. I wish for some way to make my opinions known but I do not wish for any celebrity or notoriety. And with a post that I wrote like yesterday's entry, I think that there might be some backlash. Also, I would just like to post on my blog in the safety of anonymity.
I hope everyone still reads despite me not posting my character's information and trust that I am not talking out my ass =P
